Lecrae releases his second mixtape called Church Clothes 2. This was met by much controversy as featured on the album are secular atrists from his hometown of Texas. I downloaded this free mixtape expecting the worst, expecting a washed or watered down message of the gospel. However, I found that Lecrae stayed true to his message and convictions. Church Clothes 2 is an amazing album that blends amazing, spirit driven lyrics with some of the hottest beats around. This is a must have!

Reach Records released Minorville by artist Derek Minor (Pro). The album dropped
9/9/13 and represents Christian hip hop at its best. Derek Minor explodes with a
lyrically sound and Kingdom centered record that includes the hit song "Dear Mr. Christian", a hard hitting view of the "other" side of religion. In it
Derek along with Lecrae and Dee-1 speak as people who have felt the sting of
religious leaders looking down on them and expressing how much hurt it causes.
The song is phenomenal and is only 1 in a line of amazing tracks. This is a
must have cd for Christian hip hop fans!

NEW ALBUM!! W.L.A.K
W.L.A.K. (walk like a king) is the new album from Swoope and his stable of amazing artist. The album includes Swoope, Dre Murray, Alex Faith and Christon Grey. The single Imagine explores what the world would look like if it just surrendered and loved our Savior. The lyrics are amazing and the beats are hottt. I have been waiting for the release of this album and have not been disappointed. The cd also has a song entitled W.L.A.Q. ( walk like a queen) where singer/rapper Christion Grey belts out an amazing empowering
song dedicated to the women of God. This is a must have cd.

Can I Brag On My Lord?
Trip lee one of the best to ever grace the stage as a Christian
rapper releases this statement regarding his future and how God takes center
stage in his life.
This is his statement....
Can I Brag On My Lord?
The Future of Trip Lee
Most of you know me as a rapper and performer, but the truth is,
at heart I’ve always been a
preacher. For as long as I’ve been making music, my deepest desire has been to proclaim the
Gospel and declare the goodness and glory of Jesus Christ. By God’s grace I’ve had the opportunity to use music to
do that on a public stage. I’ve loved every second of it and I’ve tried to do it with excellence. Over
the years, I’ve sensed God
calling me and equipping me not just to make music, but also to preach and to
write. That’s why last year
I wrote The Good Life, a
book that dives deeper into the message behind my record of the same title. It’s also why I announced last fall that I
wouldn’t be traveling
quite as much as I have been. I want to learn how to be a faithful pastor, and
that can only really happen in the context of a local church. So I’m taking the time to invest in learning
from godly pastors at my church in Washington, DC. Lord willing, as I serve on
staff at my church, I’ll also be able to develop more of the tools I need to serve long
term in local ministry. I’m trusting God that good days are ahead, and don’t worry – you’ll be hearing a lot more from me, from writing to music to
teaching and preaching. I’m grateful for all your support along the way, and I invite you to
join me on the road ahead.

Sho Baraka's Controversial New LP
Amisho Baraka Lewis B.K.A. Christian rapper Sho Baraka releases his much anticipated CD entitled "The Talented 10th" too much controversy. The controversy comes over a song entitled "Jim Crowe" which makes a bold statement about racism in America. Sho's flow is passionate and his lyrics are aggressive. Where's the controversy you ask? Sho uses the "N" word in his hook. Sho also tackles hip hop's view on women while using the "B" word. In my opinion Sho didn't need to use either word to get his point across, in fact I believe it ruined an otherwise awesome song. Sho's song is an amazing political song, but is it a Christian song? I will let you be the judge of that…click the album below to listen to the song!
