Introducing Urban Beat!!

Music is my life, I love to worship and my genre of choice is hip hop. I love the way a true lyricist can weave a whole scenario or paint such a vivid picture through their bars. I love to sit with my headphones on and lose myself in a world of worship, using the hip hop beats and lyrics to take me to a place where I feel I'm one with my Creator. As a hip hop artist Im constantly writing down ideas and lyrics and searching for that perfect sound. Hip hop, to me, is who I am. Its not just a style of music but a style of life. I came from a place where all I knew was street; all I knew was hood. I loved it because hip hop spoke to me. It talked about what I was seeing in the streets, hustling and survival. I felt hip hop was my voice because it put into words what I could never say. When I met Christ and these religious leaders said hip hop was the devils music, I struggled to stop listening to it. However, I thank God for his Grace and the creation of Christian Hip hop. At first I wondered how hip hop music could exist without swear words and violence. I must admit, I was skeptical until I listened to it and was blown away by the lyrics and the beats! I had some difficulty putting together a list of my top 10 Christian hip hop artists because there are so many to choose from.  But here they are in no particular order or preference along with the name of their latest CD, enjoy:
